Hi all -
I used to write a fair bit of Smalltalk, but that was ages ago & I never really did much UI work. I'm doing a tiny one-off prototype in VisualWorks. Doing fine with the development tools, and very happy to see how the browsers/etc. have continued to advance.
One thing I'm missing is a simple UI builder. Possibly due to Digitalk Brain Damage(tm), I find it very difficult to comprehend much beyond "view openOn: aModel" and "view, when model burps up event abc, I want you to execute method xyz".
Is there any such UI builder-for-dummies add-on available for VisualWorks, for those of us unable to wrap our remaining minds around ValueHolders and EventControllers and all that? Or, is there still a free Smalltalk out there that does more/less what Smalltalk/V plus WindowBuilder used to do? WindowBuilder rules, but (so far as I know?) does not have a free version.
Much appreciate any pointers, just trying to coordinate a couple of selectable lists looking at a model's instance variable (Dictionary - one list shows keys, the other shows values). I'm clearly not doing it right ...
Thanks,
Paul
