We are using S8 to build native iOS apps with Smalltalk.
The platform is called coco8
Try http://u8.smalltalking.net/contribution.aspx?contributionId=343

S8 can also be used to build webview based apps for ios and android (see A8 and cordova based platforms where S8 also run).

In case of coco8 the application is 100% written in smalltalk, and is native; you can use and implement classes at objective C level; so you have the same power and easy integration with any component at iOS level.

IMO it is the best option to use smalltalk for iOS development; a modern business model & implementation, a big library of (open source) S( components available, and an open machinery to run your smalltalk systems.

Feel free to contact me (***@smalltalking.net)
if you want to run the coco8 application example in your iOS devices.

cheers,
Ale.
